As you are planning your wedding, you may consider the idea of having a bridal/formal session or a first look session prior to your wedding. On your wedding day there will be so many people around and if you choose to do a first look prior to your ceremony, that will give you some alone time before everyone shows up. This can also alleviate some stress from the groom about his reaction as you walk down the aisle. It would create a private and romantic setting to share this moment instead of having all eyes on you during those moments. If you chose to do a bridal session of just you, the bride, it can give you plenty of time to create those stunning images of you to share at the reception. These bridal/formal sessions for LDS brides usually include both the bride and groom. It is at these sessions that you will share a first look, as your photographer cannot be inside the temple when your groom would see you in your dress for the first time. These sessions can also ensure that you have the bride and groom portraits that you want because the weather on your wedding day could be WILD! For my husband and I, it was a horizontal snow kind of blizzard on our wedding day. That meant that we didn’t have to stay out there forever trying to take pictures because we already had images that we loved of the two of us!
When we received this submission from Carli and Beau, we knew it was too good not to share! Rheygan’s first look reaction was PRICELESS!!
From the photographer, “We love getting to do first looks with our bride and grooms because it gives us an opportunity to capture that special moment in an intimate setting. This particular first look is our favorite we have ever shot. The excitement on Rheygans face was priceless! Our favorite way of shooting the first look is having the groom turn around and see the bride from a distance, it gives him the chance to take it all in! ”
